Dr Steve Malleson

Chief Medical Officer

Dr Malleson qualified in Medicine in 1975 and after eight years in General Medicine embarked on specialist Occupational Health training with London Transport in 1983. This training not only gave him experience in the Rail Industry with London Underground but also all the associated activities at the time such as heavy engineering overhaul works, electricity generation and distribution services, building works, signal maintenance, lift and escalator installations, cleaning personnel, catering and large administrative areas.

Having obtained his specialist qualifications in 1988 as an accredited specialist in Occupational Medicine and Railway Medicine, he has been employed as a Consultant, predominantly in the railway sector with Network Rail and in the Construction Industry.

Dr Malleson was a founder member and Inaugural Secretary, and later Chairman of the Association of Railway Industry Occupational Health Practitioners (ARIOPS) in 2002 and remains an active member.

He joined Express Medicals in 2005 and has developed his role as Chief Medical Officer for the company over the years.

Dr Malleson was elected a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FFOM) for his contribution to the specialty in 2020.
